What FlutterFlow is
FlutterFlow is a visual development platform for building high quality, customized apps faster. The about page says it was founded by two former Google engineers who wanted to make it easier for designers, developers and entrepreneurs to build mobile apps, and that with the drag-and-drop interface you can build a fully functioning app "in as little as an hour". It fits founders and product teams who want a visual editor but do not want to be locked out of the code. The pricing page claims "Join Over 3.3M Users Building with FlutterFlow".
What you build and how
The editor. You build UI visually from 200+ configurable UI elements, with live previews of the app's overall design in real time. The product page describes a repository of UI components, pages and sample apps to pull from, and the pricing page lists 1,000+ prebuilt templates. You can create your own design system or import themes from Figma, and share design systems across projects so several apps use the same theme.
Logic. Action logic is built in a visual Action Flow Editor. Test Mode lets you run the app and fix bugs, a Debug Panel helps troubleshoot, and you can create automated tests so the app stays stable across platforms. When the visual tools run out, the product page lists custom Dart functions and custom Flutter widgets for more flexibility. You can also write and deploy Google Cloud Functions to manage your backend without leaving the platform.
Data and integrations. The page lists integrations with Firebase and Supabase for live data, plus a custom backend through RESTful API support. Paid plans add Swagger/OpenAPI imports (Growth). The product page also shows an integrations strip with categories such as AI, payments, search, notifications and database.
Publishing. The home page says to deploy to the App Store, Play Store and web with a few clicks, and that you can build "responsive apps that fit every device size". The Free plan lists building mobile, web and desktop apps and web publishing. Basic adds custom domain web publishing, testing on local devices and one-click App Store deployment. Localization uses a Google Translate integration for instant translation across multiple languages, with a one-click localization feature on Growth.
Owning the code. The home page puts it as "Own your code. Export your code with the click of a button. No vendor lock-in." On the pricing page, code download and APK download start on the Basic plan, so exporting is a paid-plan feature. A testimonial from Dan Somrack, a founder, says: "we could always export the code into Flutter and we could keep it going as we scaled, which we didn't see with other platforms."
AI at every step. The AI page frames it as "Build it. Test it. Ship it. With AI at every step." It says FlutterFlow AI is six tools across the workflow. These include the AI Agent Panel in the desktop app, which runs on your own Claude, Codex, Antigravity or Gemini account. They also include plugins for Claude Code and Codex, an MCP server that ships with the FlutterFlow CLI so coding agents can read a project, plan changes and apply them, and Generate with Designer, which runs in the browser. The CLI installs with dart pub global activate flutterflow_cli. The page adds that Test Pilot, the CLI and the MCP server need a paid plan, and that you need the desktop app only for the Agent Panel.
AI inside the apps you ship. AI Agents let your app call models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, configured in FlutterFlow. Basic includes one agent, and Growth and Business include unlimited agents.
Collaboration. Growth adds real-time collaboration for 2 users, 2 open branches per project and a GitHub integration, plus a VS Code extension. Business raises that to collaboration for up to 5 users and 5 open branches per project, and adds up to 3 automated tests, Figma frame import, custom typography and CLI access.
Community. A showcase page lists apps built by the community and by FlutterFlow Expert agencies, and the navigation points to a Hire an Expert program, templates, trainings and ambassador programs.

- Free, $0. Visual development environment, 1,000+ prebuilt templates, mobile, web and desktop apps, API and data integration, web publishing, up to 2 projects and 10 Lite credits. AI generation is 5 requests per lifetime.
- Basic, $39 per month. Everything in Free plus unlimited projects, code download, APK download, custom domain web publishing, local device testing, one-click App Store deployment, Test Pilot and 100 Lite credits per month. AI generation is 50 requests per month.
- Growth, $80 for the 1st seat per month and $55 for the 2nd seat. Adds GitHub integration, real-time collaboration for 2 users, 2 open branches per project, one-click localization, Swagger/OpenAPI imports, a VS Code extension, Test Pilot and 200 Lite credits per month per seat. AI generation is 200 requests per month.
- Business, $150 for the 1st seat per month and $85 for seats 2-5. Adds collaboration for up to 5 users, 5 open branches per project, up to 3 automated tests, Figma frame import, custom typography, CLI access, Test Pilot and 400 Lite credits per month per seat. AI generation is 500 requests per month.
The AI page confirms the Free plan includes 5 AI generation requests and paid plans include 50 to 500 a month. The pages show no compliance claims and no hosting regions. Enterprise is a separate tab on the pricing page, and its terms are not in the text on the page.
Customer quotes on the about and home pages come from named people. Will Croushorn, Product Owner at FreshAI, says the tool "streamlines our development process". Tim Sneath, listed as a former Director of Product, calls it "a straightforward, easy to use tool that can generate very powerful results". A growth product manager named Mohamed says FlutterFlow "multiplies our team's velocity by 10X", and Ganesh SP says he "quickly created a working demo of an app in 2 hours and got a major deal". These are testimonials the company chose to show.
Who it suits and who it does not
A founder or a small product team gets the clearest value. The Free plan lets you build and test with up to 2 projects, and Basic at $39 a month adds code download, a custom web domain and one-click App Store deployment. An agency building for clients can use unlimited projects on Basic and move up to Growth or Business when more people need to work on the same app, with branches and real-time collaboration for 2 or 5 users. A team with a developer will appreciate the Dart functions, custom widgets, GitHub integration and VS Code extension, because there is a route from visual building into code.
Two things are worth planning for. First, Growth and Business are priced per seat, so a five-person team is paying for five seats, and the useful team features sit on the higher tiers. Second, the AI generation allowance on Free is 5 requests for the account's lifetime, so serious use of the AI tools means a paid plan. A builder who wants a single prompt to produce a finished app, with no editor in the loop, will find FlutterFlow is more of a visual workbench than a one-shot generator, even with the AI tools around it.
