What PhotoDeck is

PhotoDeck is a website, gallery and media library platform for people who sell and share photographs. Its homepage calls it "the flexible and time-saving toolkit for sharing photos and videos" and sorts visitors into 3 groups, Photographers, Agencies, and Brands and organizations. The site says it is made in Europe and gives 4 verbs for the product: present, send, sell and organize. It is aimed at the photographer or image business that wants a fast portfolio site, private delivery to clients and a store in one account, rather than a separate service for each.

What you build and how

Websites. The first job is a photography website. The company says it helps build sites "that are fast, beautiful and that engage clients and visitors." The comparison pages mention hundreds of design options, custom domains with SSL, and full control over metadata, alt text, page titles and descriptions. The site can be shown in several languages: the homepage lists German, French, Italian, Dutch, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Spanish, Czech and Icelandic as supported.

Client galleries. The second job is delivery. The homepage describes an easy-to-use client photo gallery as the way to send photos to clients, "private or professional, flexibly and securely." The platform also supports RAW and TIFF files, which matters when you need to deliver or display full-quality source files. Bulk uploads of large libraries keep the folder structure, and the company says its team actively helps photographers who are moving from another platform.

Selling. The third job is the store. The homepage says you can sell photos and videos online in many different ways while keeping 100% of the revenue. The Zenfolio comparison page spells out what that covers: digital downloads, print orders and image licensing, with zero commission on all paid plans.

Media library. The fourth job is organization. The company sells a media library product for agencies and organizations, described as "powerful yet affordable" software, with the line "Millions of assets won't slow you down!" The navigation also names custom metadata fields. The Pixieset comparison page lists face recognition with selfie search, auto-keywording and bib number detection as AI features, which points at event photography and large archives.

Who sees the result. The finished product is a public website plus private client galleries. The end user is a visitor browsing portfolios, a client opening a private gallery, or a buyer ordering a download or print.

The evidence from the pages

Plans and prices. The comparison pages give annual-billing prices. Essential is $12 a month with 10 GB. Standard is $25 a month with 100 GB. A higher plan, named Business on the Zenfolio page, is $45 a month with 300 GB and is described as upgradable. Team is $100 a month with 500 GB and 5 team members. The company writes that its prices were last verified in April 2026 and tells readers to check the current rates on its site. For a photographer who wants a website plus galleries without a store, the page lists Essential; for galleries plus a store plus a customizable website, it lists Standard.

Trial. The Pixieset page says a free trial is offered on all plans with no credit card required, and the homepage says "Free 14 days."

Commission. "0 commission taken" appears among the homepage numbers, and the comparison pages repeat it. The Zenfolio page claims that Zenfolio takes a 7% commerce fee on fulfilled orders, which on $15,000 of sales would be $1,050 a year against $0 at PhotoDeck. That figure is the company's own comparison, so weigh it as marketing.

Scale and speed. The homepage reports 170 Million images and videos put online, 1.950.000 orders on members' websites and a 5 ms response time on members' websites.

Archiving. The Zenfolio page states that PhotoDeck never automatically archives or deletes your galleries.

Reviews. The company reports a 4.7/5 Trustpilot rating and a 4.4/5 Capterra rating as of April 2026. Members quoted on the homepage include one who says sales tripled and time invested more than halved after switching, and another who runs a business that grew from a part-time one-person operation into an agency. A member quoted on the Pixieset page says they have nearly 300,000 images on the platform. Another homepage member says that out of all the photography websites tried, PhotoDeck "is the only one that can meet my requirements, in terms of capacity, capability, technology, and functionality."

Privacy and philosophy. The site says "Proudly made in Europe. We don't use creepy tracking cookies. We work eco-responsibly." It also says feedback from its community drives its development, "free of investor interference."

Not published on these pages. The pages say nothing about a free plan, SOC 2 or similar certifications, code export or self-hosting.

Who it suits and who it does not

PhotoDeck suits a professional photographer who sells downloads, prints or licenses and wants to keep every sale. The flat plan prices, the 0% commission and the commission-free store are the center of its case. It also suits an agency or an organization with a big image library, because the Team plan adds 5 team members and 500 GB, and the media library product is built for that kind of archive. A photographer who shoots events can use the face recognition, auto-keywording and bib number detection the comparison page lists.

The homepage also links separate solution pages for websites and galleries for photographers, a photo agency platform and media library software. A photographer whose clients speak another language can publish the site in any of the languages listed. Someone with a 10-year archive will care about the stated no-auto-archiving policy and the bulk upload that keeps folders intact.

The caveats come from the company's own comparison. PhotoDeck does not include booking, contracts, invoicing or scheduling; the Pixieset page says plainly that PhotoDeck does not offer that functionality, so a studio that wants the paperwork inside the same tool should look elsewhere or add another service. It also does not offer a basic galleries-with-store plan without the customizable website, so the comparison page points every e-commerce use case to Standard at $25 a month. Finally, these pages describe a hosted product with no code export, so a developer who wants to move the site into their own stack has no path described.
