What Kourses is

Kourses is a hosted platform for coaches and creators who want to run online courses, a community and a membership site from one place. The company's own line is "The online course, community and membership site platform for coaches & creators that want to create, engage and profit." It was started by 2 co-founders, James Dyson and Ian Bass, who say they bring over 15 years of working directly in the online education space. The site footer names the company as Kourses Ltd. Kourses also sells to businesses that want branded internal training portals, so the reader is a solo creator first and an operations or HR team second.

What you build and how

The course side is a builder the company describes as "intuitive, clutter-free" and made for course creators. Its stated aim is to let you "create online course websites and portals that look and feel amazing", with professional course layouts and clean student screens, on the argument that better presentation raises the perceived value of your content and helps retention. Video is hosted by Kourses itself. The pages say you upload straight to Kourses for fast, ad-free streaming, and they list required external video hosting, with its extra cost and setup, as a drawback of other platforms.

Delivery is automated. The course page promises that you can drip lessons, open modules automatically and grant access instantly, so a new buyer is enrolled without you touching anything. For teams the same idea appears as release schedules: content can go out by date, a number of days after enrollment, or manually.

Community and membership are part of the same product rather than add-ons. The home page says to use community access to build high-value offers that command premium pricing, and it lists a community platform among the things included in the plan. This is the reason Kourses also sits in the membership communities category here. A reader who arrives from that category should know that the pages describe community and membership as a bundle with courses and checkout, not as a standalone forum product, and the pricing page fills in the community features: private community spaces, member profiles, private 1-to-1 messaging and chat, moderation features and community broadcasts. Membership tiers let you create levels that limit content access, and the page describes the community as a private home where members connect and support each other.

Selling is handled by built-in checkout. You can set one-time prices, offer payment plans or bundle products into subscriptions. Coupon support lets you create discount codes for launches and promotions, set expiry dates and usage limits, and apply them automatically at checkout. The company presents its checkout pages as conversion-optimized, and the pricing page adds multiple one-click order bumps, one-click upsells, abandoned cart recovery, sales and tax management and chargeback protection. It says most Kourses creators see a 15-30% increase in order value from bumps and upsells. Digital products such as ebooks, templates and workbooks can be sold individually or in bundles from a resource library, with instant access once payment clears. Course features listed there also include AI video transcriptions, language support and hosted or custom domains.

Integrations are named rather than counted. The integrations page lists email and CRM tools including Keap, GetResponse and MailerLite "and more", Zapier and webhooks for connecting to thousands of apps, ThriveCart and OptimizeCheckouts for checkout, and GoToWebinar, where new members or leads can be sent for event registration. The pricing page says there are built-in integrations with 20+ email and CRM tools, and the feature menu lists the Facebook Conversion API. Webhooks trigger real-time actions in your external systems based on member behavior and purchases.

The business side is its own page. For internal training, Kourses describes fully branded portals with your company colors, logo and domain. Onboarding sequences can be set up once and then run automatically for every course member. Several team members can manage training content and track employee progress, and there are multiple training admin roles, so HR or managers can see who has completed required training and who needs a reminder.

Plans, limits and support

The pricing page lists 3 plans with a 14-day free trial, a monthly price and a lower rate billed annually. Starter is $15 a month, or $9 a month billed annually, with 100 members, 1 published product, 1 business website and 20GB of file storage. Pro is $59 a month, or $49 billed annually, with 1,000 members, 10 published products, 1 business website and 100GB of storage. Unlimited, the recommended plan, is $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, with unlimited members and products, 2 business websites and 500GB of storage. (One FAQ answer mentions 15 products for Pro; the plan table says 10.) Every plan carries 0% transaction fees, so you "Just pay Stripe fees," which the FAQ puts at 2-3%, along with checkout order bumps, upsells, custom domain support and removal of Kourses branding. The page says "99% of our features are included on all plans." Annual billing gives 2 months free and locks in the early adopter rate for a year. If you downgrade while early adopter pricing is available you keep the early rate; if you cancel completely you permanently lose it.

Support is the same on every tier. The FAQ says "Every plan includes email and live chat support - even Starter at $9/month," and the plan list mentions 24/7 chat support. The Unlimited plan includes migration assistance for content and member data, and the plan table lists a free migration service. Member data can be exported at any time on a full paying plan that has completed its trial. The refund policy is a "30-day money-back guarantee": if Kourses is not the right fit in your first 30 days, the FAQ says, "we'll refund your payment - no questions asked."

The home page stacks up what a plan includes with the company's own annual values attached: online courses at $1,200 a year, the community platform at $996, conversion-optimized checkout at $348, video hosting at $300, native email integrations at $360, priority support at $360 and concierge onboarding support at $1,000, for a total it gives as $3000+. Those are marketing valuations, not prices. For a limited time, the pricing page adds an AI First Founder Course valued at $199.

On people, the about page says "When you reach out, you are talking to us" and that feedback shapes what gets built next. Customer quotes on the pricing page include Greg Smith, a golf coach, who says Kourses "completely simplified everything by bringing courses, payments, memberships, and community into one integrated platform."

Who it suits and who it does not

Kourses suits a coach or course creator who already sells and wants one hosted tool, with video, checkout and community included, at a flat monthly fee rather than a share of sales. Because the fee is flat and the transaction fee is 0%, the cost does not rise with sales, which matters most to creators whose revenue is growing. A small business that wants a branded training portal with automatic onboarding and completion tracking also fits.

The caveats sit in the limits. Starter allows 1 published product and 100 members, so it is a plan for a first launch, and a creator with several offers will land on Pro or Unlimited quickly. Connections run through native email and CRM integrations, Zapier and webhooks, so a team that wants to build its own logic on top of the platform should check that those routes cover its needs. Anyone who wants a large standalone community with its own events and discovery features should try the community spaces during the trial, since Kourses treats community as one part of a course and checkout bundle.
