SmartSuite

SmartSuite structures data in linked tables with the familiar mix of views, grid, kanban, calendar, Gantt, and layers automation rules and reporting dashboards on top, aimed at teams tracking projects, clients, or operational processes rather than building a public-facing app. Prebuilt “solution” templates for common workflows, sales pipelines, editorial calendars, hiring trackers, cut down the setup time compared to building the same structure from a blank Airtable base.
Pricing is per user per month, tiered by automation runs and storage, with a free plan for small teams testing it out. An API and common integrations support pulling data into other tools, though SmartSuite is less commonly used as a raw backend for a separate app builder than Airtable is. The ceiling is exactly that specialization, it’s strong for internal process management but less proven as the data layer behind a customer-facing portal or app. It fits ops and project teams who want Airtable-style flexibility with more workflow structure built in from the start.
