Typebot turns traditional form-filling into a conversation, asking one question at a time in a chat-like interface rather than showing a long form all at once. It's open-source and self-hostable, so you own the code and can run it on your servers. The builder uses a visual workflow where you connect blocks representing questions, logic, and actions.

This approach works great when you want higher completion rates (people respond better to conversational forms) or when you're building chatbot-style experiences. It's less suitable if you need to display all fields at once or if respondents prefer scanning a traditional form layout.
