Parse Platform

Parse Platform is the open-source continuation of Facebook's original Parse backend service, now maintained by the community. It gives your app a full backend with database storage, push notifications, and APIs.

It's particularly popular with mobile developers, though it works for web too. Since it's fully open-source, you can deploy it yourself or contribute to its development.
